La Española Gourmet Extra Virgin Olive Oil
La Española Gourmet Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a premium single-varietal EVOO made exclusively from Manzanilla olives, a traditional variety from the province of Seville that is far less common in extra virgin olive oil than in table olive production. This gives the oil a distinctive identity, combining character, aromatic freshness, and an elegant flavour profile that stands out among gourmet Spanish olive oils.
The producer is one of Spain’s best-known olive oil groups. La Española traces its history back to 1840 and is purportedly the oldest Spanish olive oil brand, giving the product a strong heritage as well as modern international recognition.
In terms of origin, this oil is Andalusian and closely linked to Seville. The Manzanilla variety itself is identified as originating in Seville. La Española’s gourmet range is produced at its mill in La Roda de Andalucía, in the province of Seville.
As for flavour, La Española Gourmet Manzanilla can be described as intense, full-bodied, and highly aromatic, with notes reminiscent of fresh wild fruit. Its balanced yet expressive style makes it especially well suited to finishing dishes rather than hiding it in heavy cooking, so it works beautifully with toasted bread, salads, grilled vegetables, fish, and other simple dishes where the oil can really shine.
